The Stillwater Public Library Foundation’s annual Light A Spark event fuels funding for materials, programs, services, and historic preservation for the Stillwater Public Library, and your support provides opportunities that would otherwise not be possible.
Program Overview
We are thrilled to be returning in 2022 with Light a Spark, our signature event, which brings the community together on the Stillwater Public Library Terrace to enjoy the City of Stillwater's annual 4th of July Fireworks display.
Join us for a bit of magic by Brodini, the master magician; Enjoy Lake Elmo Inn appetizers and create your own Ice Cream Sundae station, accompanied by a cash bar as you wait for the fireworks to begin.
If you've joined us before, our event will look a little different due to COVID-19, e.g., attendance will be limited, and there will be ample space to spread out. We’ll have fun activities that will be table-centric.

Dick Huelsmann Foundation
Dick Huelsman was a lifelong resident of Stillwater, who dedicated his life to serving the community. Under his dynamic leadership, the expansion and renovation of the historic Stillwater Public Library resulted in the beautiful facility that gives unparalleled strength and value to the community today.
In 2008, inspired by Dick Huelsmann, the Foundation was founded. It is with deepest gratitude that the Stillwater Public Library Foundation dedicates this celebration to honor the memory and the contributions of Dick Huelsmann.
